Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona
In accordance with the Mandarin Oriental passion for working with creative and interesting design concepts, a prestigious Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola was assigned to create the interior decor Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona. The project reflects the open, Mediterranean cosmopolitan character of the town where this hotel, along with the unmistakeable seal Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The simplicity of the linear building, which was once the bank’s head office, suitable for the perfect clean, well-balanced interior design by Urquiola.
Unique Pieces
Room layout and design furniture, decoration and the ceiling is beautifully hand-woven carpets, reminiscent of the charm and classic hotel is a big difference, everything has been carefully selected by Urquiola. Almost all the furniture has been specially designed by the artist or adapted for the hotel along with famous names such as B & B Italia, DePadova, Flos and Moroso. Moments of Scandinavian-style chair in a restaurant, lobby couch, which has been adapted from traditional Chesterfield, a tartan rug reminiscent of the Gentleman’s Clubs from the days gone by Banker’s Bar adorn the floor, completely restored early 20th-century French iron table that serves as a central center for Blanc restaurant and lounge, each section has been carefully selected or designed to give each place its own character.
Rooms and suites
Hotel rooms ninety-eight glow in shades of beige and white, with avant-garde furniture sits well with oriental details, such as large screen and wall cabinets inspired by traditional lacquered Chinese box. Large light oak floors and beige carpets Bespoke warmth while adding a bathroom, complete with large walk in the bathroom, are decorated with mosaics by Bisazza the Mutina and understood as a magic box of stained glass.

Blanc, the essence of the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona
Filtered light from the atrium and through the large skylights positioned over Blanc restaurant and lounge, located on the ground floor, in the heart of the building. Perhaps the most spectacular elements of the hotel’s design is very large, rectangular shaped, metal grid that hangs on the restaurant table, allowing for greater privacy. On top of this structure, a surprising “hanging garden” effect that has been made with the addition of a number of plants.
Banker’s Bar and Moments
Banker’s Bar and Restaurant is located Moments mezzanine level on both sides of Blanc. Colorful decorations Banker’s Bar features a steel vault from the banks that previously occupied the place and is now used to decorate the walls. Mimosa Garden
