New Office and Educational Centre In Nature Sense
De St@art (The T@il) is the new office and educational centre of the Apenheul Foundation and the Natuurhuis in Apeldoorn. The building is shaped like a giant ancient skeleton. The forms allow it to connect both the Apenheul and Park Berg en Bos.
De St@art’s main function is a a centre for environmental education and as a meeting place for associations, business people, students and visitors. Below the ground is an auditoriom for 350 visitors. Also underground are two multi-functional rooms, a studio, an exhibition area and treatment rooms for the vets of the Apenheul in the building. To reduce the disturbance of nature perception most parts of the building are built under the ground.
