A series of parallel walls sandblasted concrete blocks have been configured in a way that allows free views of the landscape and flowing through the space. Concrete block wall space is oriented to be viewed without interruption Pinnacle Peak, McDowell Mountains, Four Peaks, and Superstition Mountain, while the aperture is controlled within the walls bton direct capture characteristics of the site and landscape, a certain view of the mountains beyond, and the sky desert.
Metal clad roof located between the concrete block walls and inflects to view a specific focus on program. In an effort to tame decide otherwise “raw” space, the introduction of both the veneer and plywood Level 5 is articulated as a layer of plaster on the specific surface of the concrete block wall in the open interior space. Two other bedrooms are located at different altitudes, and by section, allowing for privacy and focus more clearly on certain quality of views and desert scenery.
