The Stardust Sofa. Design by Italian designer Mario Bellini for Meritalia called the “Stardust”, this is a new series of light padded pillows, ottoman, chaise lounge, armchairs, and sofas that use LED lights with a low power consumption / low voltage and high performance included within the individual pieces.
The idea was to use material similar to that used for package padding, a metallic mesh of thin steel wires for structure, and a transparent coating to create this ultra light weight collection that you can also take out back by the pool or patio. The internal lighting of the Stardust turns them into real source of soft light which can vary throughout the range of colors. [via]
